Black Ice
Once again I’m caught in a whirlwind of romance and mystery. Going into Black Ice, I had no idea what to expect. I’d heard mixed reviews; which put me off from reading the story sooner. As soon as I started though, I wasn’t able to put the book down. The setting of the story as a whole gave off an eerie vibe. Especially the last hundred pages or so, it got really creepy…well not creepy but thrilling. This is classified as a romantic thriller but I’d hardly call it romantic. The book starts off with Britt and Korbie preparing to go on a weeklong backpacking trip in the mountains during spring break instead of going to Hawaii with friends. Trouble starts when Britt and Korbie set off on their hiking expedition only to get caught in a bad storm. It leaves them stranded on a mountain with no choice but to walk and find help. It gets worse from there when they run into two fugitives that hold the girls hostage and ex boyfriend drama. If you’ve been deterred from starting Black Ice for any reason, I highly recommend reading the book anyways.
