Beware the Mighty Bitey
An old, fraying rope bridge hangs above Nippy Pool. Inside it lives the Mighty Bitey Piranhas, who are watching the bridge for their next meal. They think it will break, and anyone who falls into Nippy Pool can be their lunch!
The first creature across the bridge is Mouse, who is on his way to Cougar’s party. The piranhas ask Mouse to stop and play his ukulele for them. They actually want Mouse to fall off the bridge so they can eat him! But Mouse does not fall. Then, Goat shows up with his steel drums. He also stays to play a tune for the piranhas, along with Mouse. The bridge gets closer to the water, but it does not break. Ooh, the suspense! Finally, along comes Bear and his tuba. Bears are much heavier than mice. Will this be what finally breaks the rope bridge and gives the piranhas a super-tasty meal?
I liked this book because it is suspenseful and has an ending I did not expect. The pictures are very funny, even the piranhas! They aren’t too scary for a younger child to see.
