Before Tomorrowland
The novel Before Tomorrowland was written by Jeff Jensen, Brad Bird, Jonathan Case, and Damon Lindelof. The main characters, Lee and Clara Brackett, are from the country and decide to go to New York. Clara convinces Lee to take her to the first world science fiction fair where Clara finds a comic book with information on the future. Henry is a cyborg mutated by the Germans and forced to believe that an American company, called “Plus Ultra,” made him who he is. Henry hunts down Lee and Clara and uses them to find Plus Ultra. Meanwhile, at Plus Ultra, Amelia Earhart is working with Albert Einstein and many other famous people to find a way into the future. Lee and Clara find themselves in the middle of a war between man and machine in this thrilling novel. This book is surprisingly sci-fi because of all of its interesting weapons and robots. I would rate this book three stars. The book itself started out slow and I was bored through the beginning. In the beginning, there is a lot of walking around and talking with no real action. Also, I don’t like books that switch narrators every chapter. Most people who read Ender’s Game will enjoy this book. Also, people who like fictional accounts of famous people’s lives also may like this novel.
