Beauregard in a Box
Beauregard in a Box is a picture book about a boy who wants to go see more friends in different places. Unfortunately, Beauregard is scared of boats and airplanes, so he thinks of an idea to go in a box in the mail. He doesn’t want to go on a plane or a boat, so he decides to go in a box of mittens. But he doesn’t know that the box actually gets around by airplane. If the mailman wants to go across the ocean, he has to get on a plane.
The first place Beauregard visits is Finland, which has a lot of snow, and there he meets a boy named Aleksi. Then in Bali he finds a second friend named Sinta. The third friend Beau meets is Jack in Australia. At the end, Jack makes Beau go on an airplane to get home. Beauregard finds out that he’s brave enough to travel on a plane.
This is a good book for someone who is five or six and really brave. The characters look like cartoons, but other things are drawn to look realistic. I like Beauregard’s name, and I like books where kids are the heroes.
