Beastly Puzzles: A Brain-Boggling Animal Guessing Game
Beastly Puzzles is a picture book with captivating writing and realistic pictures that make an engrossing puzzle book! You get various objects, and you try to piece together what kind of animal could have a fire hose, a breathing tube, and tire treads. Simply turn a flap to find out! Once you do, you get to see what each object represents, and you hear interesting facts about the animal. The pictures really fit, and the illustrator found great ways to place most of the objects into a location with it still making sense, like putting four sewing pins, silver thread, and glue in an arts and crafts room. I learned a lot, like how a sloth has extra neck bones to turn his head all the way around! My favorite illustration is the one where an ostrich is sticking its head through a billiard table. There is some great material, like an interesting “About this book” section and a glossary. I would like it better if there were more facts. My only problem is that some of the clues and hints are pretty misleading; otherwise, this is a great book. This book would be great for all ages and would be a perfect opportunity for a family get-together.
