BE PREPARED! The Frankie MacDonald Guide to Life, the Weather, and Everything
This book is about a boy, Frankie Macdonald, who has autism. Frankie eventually creates a YouTube channel where he does weather reports. The book is all about his life and is full of interesting weather facts. At the end of the book there is a weather quiz that quizzes you about what you’ve learned about the weather from the book. Did you know that Frankie Macdonald learned a lot about the weather just from watching the weather on TV? He also memorized lots of maps. His grandma says no matter where they go on vacation, they never get lost, because Frankie memorizes all the streets even if he’s never been there before. As a kid Frankie Macdonald got to try all the stuff the other kids did, but usually he never kept doing them. For instance, when he played baseball, he never swung the bat. When he rode a toboggan, he enjoyed sliding down the hill, but it was too much work getting the toboggan back up. But when he got a bike, he kept riding it and he didn’t get distracted. So, this book is about finding things you really love and being inspired by them to find your voice.
