Bad Luck Girl
The story is about a girl called Callie—prophesy girl, dust girl, heir to the Midnight Throne. At the beginning of the book, she has just been reunited with her mom after her mom had been kidnapped (presumably events from the previous books). And she also met her dad for the first time. After that they ended up in Chicago for most of the story. Then she finds out about people other than fairies or humans—Undone, or as they call themselves—Halfers. She also tampers with magic, which gets her into trouble. Thinking that everyone would be better off without her, she runs away. When she does that she learns just what the Halfers are going through and makes a resolve to help them, and to not run away but to fight.
The book was a little slow at first, and full of more angsty drama than laughs, so I wasn’t sure that I’d like it, but as I got farther into the story, it got a lot more interesting. By the end, I really liked the book and think that many others will too, though you will understand it better if you read the first two books.
