Aviary Wonders Inc. Spring Catalog and Instruction Manual
In this book, you get to look around and see all the stuff that a woman has come up with because she was inspired by all the birds she saw once. It is kind of like reading a story but you get to pick out what you would like a bird to look like. For instance, there is one page of beaks, and pictures of feathers and legs, and crests and combs, bodies and wings. If you want to you can choose a collar for your bird, and you can choose how it flies. It is laid out kind of like an encyclopedia; for example it doesn’t exactly tell you about the beaks, but it tells you what types of beaks there are. Of course, being able to build your own bird and order one isn’t real, but I think it would be fun to build your own bird! I like the drawings, because they seemed very real and they were brightly colored. I learned real facts about how birds are different from each other because of how they live, like if they eat seeds or meat, or fly long distances or walk or swim, they will look different.
