Atlas of Cats (Atlases of Animal Companions)

We rated this book:

This book is all about cats. There are stories, history, a general description, and art for many different kinds of cats. I’m sure it doesn’t cover all the cat breeds, but it does cover a lot.

The book follows the same format for each breed entry. There’s a description of its appearance, temperament, where it came from, its development, and usually a few other similar breeds that it could be mistaken for. Some breeds have a description of different colorings, and frequently there is a page set up like a little newspaper, telling a story about a well-known cat of that breed.

The whole thing is written as if by a cat, which is kind of fun. The information is entertaining and interesting, and it is fun to read, although if I were really wanting to know about a particular breed, I would look it up somewhere where I could get more details. However, this book is a really fun to look through (and read) because of the cute cat illustrations that fill the pages. The cats are very expressive, and you can’t help but enjoy their little stories.

Cat lovers are sure to enjoy this fun look at cats.
