As An Oak Tree Grows

This was a great story about the life of an oak tree. It started as an acorn that was planted by a boy in 1775. The story shows the tree as it grows through the years and how the town changes around it. I really liked the timeline on the page telling what year it was and then the pictures showing how things looked during that time and how the tree had grown. I couldn’t believe how big the tree grew to be! And it started out as a tiny acorn! I would love to have a tree that big in my yard! I would climb it and we could even have a swing on one of the branches. I was very sad when I got to the last part of the book. The tree lived to be 225 years old – that’s a pretty long time! I would definitely recommend this book to all of my friends. It even includes a poster that shows the trees rings and has a timeline of events that occurred during the tree’s life. On the back there are even some cool facts about oak trees.
