Aru Shah and the End of Time

Aru Shah lies to her friends pretty often. She breaks a magic lamp because she is trying to impress her friends. Bad things happen, like her mom and her friends get frozen. A pigeon shows up and tells her that she has awakened a demon, and she has to stop him. Her sister, who she never knew, will help her. Both girls are reincarnations of the Pandavs, heroes of the Mahabharata. It’s a story from Indian mythology. Will Aru stop the demon? Will Aru stop the world from being destroyed? Read the book to find out.

In the back of the book, there’s a glossary of everything, like Indian clothes, Indian gods, etc. I liked it. I liked that the book used Indian mythology, but there were a lot of things wrong about Hanuman.

I didn’t get the demon story. It was confusing. Maybe they’ll explain it in the next book.

This book is funny and exciting. My favorite character is Subala the pigeon. My favorite animal is Makara. Makara is half crocodile and half fish. I’m excited to read the next book. I hope it will straighten out some of the twisted plot lines.
