Apple and Magnolia

Britta has two trees, Apple and Magnolia. She knows that they are best friends, even though she can’t really explain why. Then, one day, Magnolia looks different. Magnolia is losing flowers and wilting. Can Apple and Britta help Magnolia survive the winter?

I love the sweetness of the story and the wonderful friendship between Britta, Apple, and Magnolia. I also love the pretty art style and think that Britta’s hair and clothing are really cute. I like the gray speckled dog in the book that follows Britta everywhere and chews on a stick that Britta walks around with sometimes.

My favorite character in the book isn’t Britta, even though I do like her. Whenever Britta asks her family questions, her dad’s reply is always a polite “no.” Her older sister’s response is a very rude “no” every time. Britta’s aunt helps her with every question she has. So my favorite character in the book is Britta’s aunt because she is kind and patient.

I recommend this book to people who love trees and stories about friendship.
