Apex Predators: The World’s Deadliest Hunters, Past and Present
This book is about apex predators from the present day as well as from far in the past. It tells you a little bit about each predator, like how big it was compared to humans, their abilities and disabilities, and other stuff. It tells you about their hunting tactics and their defense tactics. For example, we don’t know much about Titanoboa, but as far as we know, it was the biggest snake ever. It lived most of its life in water in tropical places and ate things like crocodiles and fish. I really like this book because it gives a lot of information. It also had pages where a modern apex predator was matched up with an extinct one to compare how they would do in a fight. Who do you think would win with a tiger against a Utahraptor? The tiger is fast and powerful, and its claws and teeth are awesome weapons; but the Utahraptor is also quick, and it is twice as heavy. The tiger is most likely smarter, though. There are many other apex predators and a few other match-ups. You will like this book if you like reading about the top predators of all time.
