I really liked the book Another Day As Emily. I was very surprised that it is about a girl named Suzy. One of my favorite things about this book is that it is written in prose. I also like that some of the pages are illustrated, usually to give a funny visual of a person or event. The main character, Suzy, is funny and easy to relate to. She is written in such a way that we can’t help being on her side. I like that Another Day As Emily has information on the real Emily Dickinson. I am glad that there were no bad words in this book. Even though I liked the book, I did not like what Suzy did to try to cope with being sad and feeling left out. I think it was a little harsh to act exactly like Emily Dickinson, and shut out all her friends and family. I also did not like how she is always irritated by her mom, brother, friend Alison, or dad. this book is kind of an easy read, but it is not boring by far. Another Day As Emily is a great book and I highly recommend it!
