Animals Work (I Like to Read)
I read the book Animals Work by Ted Lewin. Animals Work tells about a lot of different animals who like to work and help out. The illustrations in this book look very colorful, almost like pictures. I especially liked the dog that helps herd sheep the best. This was my favorite character because she looks like a dog I know. When I did Read to a Dog at the library, I read to a black and white dog whose name is Josh! I also like the part that says “A reindeer pulls” because it reminds me of the reindeer from Rudolph, the show we watched. The sentences in this book are very short, like “A dog herds” and “A donkey pulls.” So this would be a good book for younger children to read. There are not a lot of words and it would be easy to read. If kids like animals, they could enjoy this book. I thought that this book was so important because it tells us about animals who want to help us out.
