Animals Illustrated: Raven (Animals Illustrated, 11)
Animals Illustrated: Raven// by Monica Ittusardjuat, illustrated by Kagan McLeod is a great book to learn about ravens, what they eat, their big brains, and how they raise their babies. Ravens are almost as smart as humans and use tools like us too. I love learning about animals, so a book like //Raven// is right up my alley. Ravens are amazing creatures that live in the arctic. Did you know that ravens can use tools? They can! And they have big brains, some of the biggest “bird brains” in the world!
I love that this book shows a picture of a raven skeleton. It’s really cool to see the bones like the radius and the ulna. Some of their bones are named the same as human bones. Like the femur, that’s a leg bone. So that’s really awesome. Some animal books only gloss over animals, but this one goes very in-depth, which is great for a kid who’s an animal nerd like me! I think this book is very educational and fun to read too.
