Animal Planet Farm Animals

This book is all about, like the title says, farm animals! This is a book that doesn’t really have a story or a plot, but instead it has lots of factual information on different kinds of animals you would find on a farm. Some examples of these types of animals are ducks, chickens, and bees! Ducks and chickens are my brother David’s two favorite kinds of animals. I’ll bet he’d like to read this book! There are colorful tabs and each one has a name. These names tell you more information about that particular type of animal. For example, the tab called “Big Data” tells you the facts and figures about a particular animal. A Big Data tab on chickens told me the record for a chicken laying eggs in a year is 371 eggs! In this book, there are a lot of picture illustrations that help you see what particular animals look like. There are close-up photographs of bees which are very cool! In addition, there are other color illustrations that make the information in the book easy to read. There wasn’t anything about this book that I didn’t like. I liked how you could search in the book for a particular animal you were interested in. You didn’t have to read the book all the way through. I think boys and girls ages 5 – 10 who like animals would enjoy this book. A quote from this book was “This grass is starting on a long journey.” Can you guess what animal section this quote came from? You’ll have to read the book to find out!
