And Then Comes Christmas
This book is written in a lyrical format, which is a beautiful change from the typical Christmas story. It is a story about all the magic of Christmas. I liked how the author described how cardboard boxes arrive at the door from the delivery person, but are quickly taken away and hidden. I liked the part about the paper snowflakes, it reminded me to make some at my house too. The story had wonderful pictures and text about sitting on Santas lap, presents under the tree, Christmas programs and concerts at school, homemade goodies, reading the night before Christmas, and cutting down the Christmas tree. One of my favorite parts was the part when the children bundled up in many layers and played in the snow described as “smooth as bedcovers.” This book has all the elements of Christmas time. It is such a joyous time of year and this book described it all in such beautiful detail. This is a great book to read at the end of November to get ready for the Christmas season.
