An Illustrated Treasury of Swedish Folk and Fairy Tales
An Illustrated Treasury of Swedish Folk and Fairy Tales is very well written. I recommend it for eight years and up. It has lots of great stories, twenty-two of them in total. Some of them are by my favorite authors like Elsa Beskow. None of the stories are too scary and there are only a couple parts with snobby characters. The funniest one to me is called The Barrel Stopper. It’s about people fighting over cows and a creative way of getting rid of mean people. The other stories have a variety of characters from brave boys and girls to kings and queens as well as trolls and tomtes. Some of them are quite long and others are short. All of the stories are illustrated in a really interesting style that is a little detailed but still leaves a lot to your imagination. Readers who like fairy tales or folk tales will be delighted by this collection of fresh stories from an interesting part of the world.
