Amy Wu and the Warm Welcome
Amy has a new classmate who is from china. His name is Lin. Amy tries to get Lin to feel welcome at her school, but Lin doesn’t say anything the whole day in school. A plan in Amy’s head sprouts when she sees Lin talking to his sister in Chinese: Amy will invite Lin to her dumpling party! Will Amy’s plan make Lin feel welcome at the party?
I loved this book and its story and art. The art in this book is very cute, and I loved that the book had a gay couple, so many Black people, and so many Asian people. I liked the idea of the cover arrangement, which is a big scroll that has the name of the book written on it. I liked the note from the author and the pages on how to make a welcome banner and ideas of what to put on it. I recommend this book to people who like books about kindness and learning about different cultures.
