Alien Summer #1 (Area 51 Interns)
Area 51 Interns: Alien Summer is a funny and fast-paced novel about a group of middle schoolers battling against an alien invasion. It is the first book in a series written by James Murray and Carsen Smith.
Vivian Harlow, whose mom is the director at Area 51, is forced to go to take your kids to work day with her mom. She had planned on going to the lake with her friends, but fortunately for her all of her friends are at Area 51 as well. Viv and her friends expect Area 51 to be a futuristic testing facility, but instead they find it to be the same as any old government building.
Viv’s mom is just starting to give a speech when suddenly she is interrupted by alarms; aliens have escaped the base! Viv and her friends must now work together to survive and save their parents.
Overall, this book was absolutely amazing. I really liked this take on Area 51. It had new technology and wild experiments, in addition to the aliens. I would recommend this book to kids who enjoy adventure and science fiction novels.
