Alice-Miranda at Sea
Book 4 of this series, Alice-Miranda at Sea is about a rich little girl named Alice-Miranda Highton-Smith-Kennington-Jones, who is very friendly, but talks too much and has the habit of asking questions and not letting people answer them. In this book, her and her two friends, Millie and Jacinta, are attending a wedding on board Her Majesties ship, Octavia, set to sail to Venice. Also on board the ship is Neville, a boy who is headed to New York but got confused and got on the wrong ship and is staying is a room that is obviously not his. When people’s jewelry start going missing, Alice-Miranda and her friends get to the bottom of the mystery.
This book is probably meant for kids under age eight, but it is big, might take them a while to read by themselves, and could keep them from choosing it. Older kids might find the story a little slow as most pages are filled with Alice asking non-stop questions to everyone she sees, like an annoying little sister. Sometimes you wish you could Shhh her to get back to the actual story. The story though is cute and I would recommend younger kids read this book.
