Alexandra the Great: The Story of the Record-Breaking Filly Who Ruled the Racetrack
I think that Alexandra the Great was a great book. It is about a filly (a young female horse) who turned out to be one of the greatest racehorses of all time. The foal was rejected by her mother at a young age and was raised by another mare (adult female horse). The foal’s name was Rachel Alexandra. Even though they thought Rachel was unfit to be a racehorse, they soon discovered she was an amazing runner, and she became a racehorse! Alexandra the Great tells the amazing but true story of Rachel Alexandra from birth to retirement. The story was amazing! It was amazing how she went from rejection to record-breaking! I also loved how the author included photos, which lets us see the descriptions of everything a lot better. Overall, the book was amazing, and it is one of my favorites! I recommend it for ages ten to fifteen.
