Aladdin: Far From Agrabah
Aladdin far from Agrabah is a fantastic novel about Jasmine and Aladdin and their journey together.
The book uses a double perspective, so it goes from Jasmine’s view in one chapter to Aladdin’s in the next. Princess Jasmine of Agrabah has been stuck in her palace for far too long, and she desires to travel far before she becomes the next ruler of Agrabah. One day her father, who wants to get her married, introduces her to Prince Ali of Ababwa.
But what Jasmine doesn’t know is that she has met Ali before and that he lives on the streets of Agrabah. He has found a genie and a magic carpet. He used one of his wishes to become a prince to see Jasmine, whom he secretly loves. Aladdin discovers her longing to see the world and, with his genie’s help, takes her to the made-up world of Agrabah. They have a wonderful time until an evil person disrupts the paradise and threatens to leave them stranded there.
I really enjoyed this story. It elaborates one of my favorite parts of Disney’s animated movie. Another thing I thought was cool is how at the end of the book, Jasmine’s wish to see the world comes true. I would recommend this amazing novel to boys and girls 10 and up.
