Adele in Sand Land: TOON Level 1
This book is about a little girl named Adele having grand adventures. She starts her adventure in a very crowded sandbox. From there, Adele falls into her imagination and meets many strange and interesting friends.
Adele fills up her sand pail, and when she dumps it out, a sand creature named Sandy is there. Her stuffed doll named Stuffy comes to life and plays with Sandy. Suddenly, a Sand Dragon surprises them by gobbling them up! But don’t worry, they are okay!
Throughout the rest of the story, there are fluffy chicks that tickle the ground, freezing ice at the top of the world, flying ice cream pops, and a hot dog tree.
Does Adele ever make it back home to the sand box and her mom?
In my opinion, the story was not particularly funny. It was confusing and did not make sense. It was a bit interesting simply because there were so many random things happening on every page. The pictures were well-drawn, but like the story, they also did not make much sense. Maybe someone with a more active imagination than me would enjoy the book more than I did.
