Action Presidents #2: Abraham Lincoln!
This book is about Abraham Lincoln. The story is told by a turkey who wears clothes. He teaches two kids about history. This book is a graphic novel. It covers Lincoln’s entire life. The book has actual words from his speeches and other things. I think his dad wasn’t very nice. If he found Abe reading any books, he tore them up. He made Abe work for other people, then he’d take all his money. Abe got his storytelling skills from his dad. The day he was assassinated, Lincoln had signed a bill to make the Secret Service. I couldn’t believe the Secret Service didn’t protect the president until the assassinations of two more. They were supposed to catch money counterfeiters. In the back of the book, there are places to visit, a glossary, a timeline, and Abe jokes they didn’t use. I wish there were more Abe jokes. I definitely learned a lot of new information about Abraham Lincoln. The book helped me understand the Civil War better. I didn’t like the turkey narrator. The pictures were good. I loved the jokes. I might read more books in this series.
