This book is about a kid that is in 7th grade named Arthur. Arthur gets beat up on a lot by Robbie Zack, the bully. Arthur does and joins a lot of things, but they never work out like he hoped they would. He has had a lot of bad things happen to him in his life: his mom died, he gets bullied, he has only two friends, and his dad is really depressed. But his dreams are not crushed yet; he still plans on being a famous writer, and having the most popular girl in school like him.

I like this book because it is written through his emails, journals, letters, and so much more. Arthur is a little over confident and blunt but he is still a likable character. His teacher is the world’s best teacher. She is nice and encouraging, but still strict. My favorite character is the teacher, because she is really kind, and truly cares about the kids. The format of the book was the best part; it made me want to keep reading the book.
