A to Z Mysteries Super Edition #6: The Castle Crime
The Castle Crime is a new Super Edition from the series A to Z Mysteries. The series is well loved by children who are starting to read chapter books. The book features larger print and easy to read plots designed to help entice six to nine year olds. I have read the entire series and have enjoyed the audio CD’s as well. In addition to the mystery, the book itself also has a mystery to find within the beautifully drawn illustrations.
The books series features Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose who are young detectives looking to solve a mystery. Each character has a unique feature. Young readers will find themselves engaged in the characters. I like that Dink has a guinea pig, Ruth Rose dresses all in one color and Josh loves to eat. This series is what inspires me to wear only one color (red). The trio work well together with a detective in The Castle Crime to solve the mystery of the missing jewels in London. I love that the story is in a castle and that the detective helps the team to solve the mystery. I love castles and I love that they are looking for jewels. The story shows how team work, ingenuity, bravery and creativity can bring about the solving of a mystery. Young readers will be engaged in reading this book and will read it multiple times.
