A Mirror Mended (Fractured Fables)
Zinnia Gray is a professional fairy-tale fixer who is done with princesses. Being a lapsed Sleeping Beauty herself, she doesn’t mind helping other girls with their skewed stories. But, after rescuing multiple princesses, she’s starting to think that maybe some of them could solve their own issues. You know, to build their self confidence and inner warriors.
But when Zinnia tries to leave a newly fixed fairy tale, she sees something shocking … the face of Snow White’s evil queen, demanding Zinnia’s help. Sucked through into the queen’s story, Zinna must decide. Will she help the evil queen find a happier ending, or will she try to escape the story?
This book was so much fun! Zinnia was an interesting, well-developed protagonist that I rooted for throughout the entire story. The story was very well-written, with a strong arc, and a good ending. This will definitely end up on my shelf of favorite fairy-tale retellings! I also loved the idea of a fairy-tale multiverse filled with different stories, which was well-done. This book was my first introduction to this marvelous series, but after reading this story, I will definitely go and pick up the other one!
