A Horse Called Now
A Horse Called Now is calm, cool, and collected. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t get upset at any point, but he knows the secret is to not worry about what could happen, but focus on what is currently happening. When his friends Hen and her chicks think that they are being chased by a big bird, each person imagines something slightly different than the other, but nothing helps anyone feel better, only worse. Now reminds them that things might not be as they think, it could be the opposite!
Now the horse helped demonstrate to me the importance of keeping calm and not jumping to conclusions. Now seems happy and carefree, which is probably how you feel when you follow his lead. The story was easy to figure out and the words weren’t too big or hard to read. The pictures were colorful and fill up the whole page. A Horse Called Now is appropriate for kids of all ages and a good reminder to both kid and adult readers to think things through.
