A Hippo in Our Yard
A Hippo in Our Yard is about a little girl named Sally. She is a very cute little girl, with gold hair, a white shirt, and red pants. While playing outside of her house in her yard, she sees hippos, tigers, zebras, and koala bears. I wish I could play with all of those animals in my yard! Sally feeds the animals all kinds of tasty food, like lettuce, tuna, carrots, and grapes. The animals sure do enjoy healthy food! Sally runs inside her house to tell her parents, her sister, and her Nana that there are all kinds of animals in their yard, but they do not believe her. They think she is pretending! Is Sally finally able to make her family believe her? Will they come to see the animals in their yard?
The pictures in this book are very funny. My favorite picture in the entire book is when everyone is startled and yells, “Where is Sally?” The animals in the pictures look like nice, friendly animals. They are not scary at all.
