A Feel Better Book for Little Tempers
This book is about what to do when you get angry. It is actually okay and very normal to feel all tight and huffy and puffy and hot and feel like you could burst. It happens to everyone, even adults. When you are mad, it is not okay to throw a tantrum or hit or bite, but it is okay to do other things that can help you feel better, like imagining that you have a baseball bat and hit the ball far, far away. Also, it is helpful to move the body around, like jumping or dancing, and to give yourself love, like self-hugs, or to breathe really slow, moving from side to side.
I like this book okay. I think it does not say anything about thinking about your feelings and finding out where the anger came from. That’s what I usually do, and it helps a lot. But the images were attractive, and some were actually quite funny, like when the angry boy seems to have a tornado on top of his head.
