This book is about a girl who lived during World War One. She lives in Belgium, which the Germans have taken over. She leaves the country to go nurse the British soldiers. While she is gone she becomes a spy for the British. She comes back to Belgium two years later. She has to do some very dangerous things, including blowing up buildings, going through the front lines, and risking her life for many more things.

I really liked this book. It is good for ages twelve and up. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes World War One or Two. I really like the characters, and I wish the book was longer. I really like that they were placed in World War One because the World Wars are my favorite history subjects. I wish that there was a sequel to this book. Personally, I think the end was a bit rushed and the beginning was really good. It wasn’t like other books where it started really slow–it jumped right into the action.
