A Boy Called Christmas
A Boy Called Christmas is a story about a boy named Nikolas who comes from a small town in Finland. Nikolas and his dad don’t own much at all; Nikolas only has one toy, a little turnip doll, and they live in a very small cottage. One day his dad has to go out on a special expedition to look for Elfhelm. During this time Nikolas’s incredibly mean aunt Carlotta comes to stay with him, and after only a short time Nikolas decides to run away. On his crazy trip that takes him all the way to the North Pole, he meets lots of wonderful friends like Blitzen the crazy reindeer, Little Kip, and of course all the other elves at Elfhelm, who eventually help him fulfill his destiny in becoming Santa.
I thought this book was super funny and exciting to read, so exciting that I couldn’t put it down. It’s definitively a different Christmas story than anything I’ve ever read before, but I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book for any kids ages seven and up and also for a family to read aloud during Christmas!
