A Billion Balloons of Questions is the story of a girl named Eva who has lots of questions every day that she really wants to be answered. Her questions are big and small, in English and in Spanish. She doesn’t always get an answer to her questions, so she’ll remember them for another time or try to find the answers on her own. Eva lives with her mom, dad, and little brother, and gets to video call her grandma, or Abuelita, on a screen and ask questions. Eva learns patience when people are too busy to answer her, and ways of finding answers on her own.

I also have questions that I wonder about, so it is helpful to read about ways of handling the questions that stay in my head. I liked reading both the English and Spanish words in the story, and it helped that my parents knew more words than me to teach me. The pictures are bright and colorful and I like that her questions are drawn in different shaped balloons, like what the title says. I think that kids my age and older will enjoy this story because kids have lots of questions they wonder about.
