Your Sincerely, Giraffe

In Yours Sincerely, Giraffe, two unalike animals, Penguin and Giraffe, became pen pals. First, Giraffe was lonely, and he saw a pelican with a sign that said he was starting a mail service. Giraffe finds a pen pal, Penguin, and they began to write letters. My favorite part was when Penguin sent a description of himself to Giraffe, and Giraffe dressed like him. I also liked it when Penguin was taking lessons from Professor Whale. They were talking about necks, and Penguin tried to find Professor Whale’s neck. The illustrations were very unrealistic. They were all black and white. The illustrations looked somewhat similar to Quentin Blake’s pictures for all of Roald Dahl’s books. There was plenty of dialogue, but there was also a lot of writing back and forth between Giraffe and Penguin. If it were a series, I would certainly like to read more. It is one of my favorite books, and I think other people might like it, too, because it’s entertaining how you know what’s happening when Penguin or Giraffe don’t. I liked this book so much that I read it all in one sitting!
