What’s the Big Deal About First Ladies

The First Lady is not always the President’s wife. All first ladies have had to host guests. Guests stole buttons from Mary Todd Lincoln. I don’t know if I would try Dolly Madison’s oyster ice cream. I don’t think it would be fun to party at a ball. I like that Jackie Kennedy displayed historic stuff in the White House. Nellie Taft had cherry trees planted. Pat Nixon got China to give panda bears to the United States. Some First Ladies taught their husbands to read and write. Many First Ladies have helped people. Hopefully the job of the First Gentleman will be the same as the First Lady.

There are a lot of facts in this book. I learned a lot. There’s a list of all the Presidents and First Ladies in the back. The pictures are funny. The pictures of people are both realistic and cartoonish. Most of the pictures of the animals are realistic. Anyone might like this book. I will read this book again. It’s not very hard to read. After reading this book, I love First Ladies! They’ve done a lot of cool stuff. Some have been more important than the Presidents.
