This book is really funny, and it is precious to me because it is the very first book I have ever read all by myself!

In this book, two turtles in the desert find a hat. They both think they look very good in it, and therefore they both want it. But since it would not be fair if only one of them had it, they decide to leave it where it is.

So they go on with their lives, but they keep looking at the hat. While watching the sunset, nobody says anything, but they are both looking at the hat. Then they go to sleep, and one is about to move close to the hat…but before she does, she makes sure the other one is deeply asleep. The other one answers that she is actually asleep and dreaming. She is dreaming of both of them having one hat each.

This book shows how two friends can want something really, really badly but can give up on it to not be unfair to another friend. I found it very interesting that they chose to do that.
