The Stone Heart
The Stone Heart is a tale about two friends, Rat and Kai (Kaidu). This is the second book in a series, so it takes place right after the foiled assassination attempt on the General of the Blades, before all heck breaks loose again. Now Rat may be able to make peace with enemies, and tells it to Kai, but shh! It’s a secret. It may help Kai’s father, also, with his plan to make peace, but if Kai tells his father, a general of the Dao empire, he would’ve betrayed Rat and their friendship.
This book has crisp humor, something I haven’t seen in a while, and the art just pops out of the page. Also the storyline is carefully set up so little hints of what’s going to happen pop out here and there but not so much that it spoils the ending. The personality of the book is just welcoming as a whole, with bright colors and fun and playful artwork. I highly recommend it. This book just screams special and awesome.
