The Sleuths of Somerville: Mick’s Buried Treasure
There are these new children in town who have a school project where they have to ask their parents why they came to town. Their parents say they came because of Mick, who has died, and then they mention a buried treasure Mick said existed but which no one has found. The kids ask their parents about the first clue, which leads them to the library, and from there they work on figuring out the rest of the clues to solve the mystery.
I didn’t really like this book much because there was this really annoying kid who was especially mean toward a member of the group of children who was new, whose name was Jace. In the end the mean guy stopped being rude, which was nice, but I still didn’t like that. I liked the story and liked figuring out the mystery and following the clues with the children; I was able to figure out the clues myself. The treasure was not really that surprising because of the picture on the front cover, although it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting either. This book is easy to read, and if you like mysteries you will probably like it.
