The Quest of the Prodigy
The Quest of the Prodigy is a book that follows Mimi, a bookworm who believes in the power of words above all else, even other people. This is why, on New Year’s Eve, instead of being at some party, she’s breaking into the library to find a book to read. While there, she hears a loud bang, and finds a book titled The Time Traveling Diaries of Sebastian Barkley. But finding this book sets off a chain of events that leads to meeting Sebastian himself, and finding out that the fate of the world might rest in her hands.
The book was written in an interesting way, with the author’s voice very prominent, which I enjoyed. It was intelligent and quirky, which fit the story and the characters of the book very well. The complexity of the story was well done, which seems very difficult considering how all of the time lines interlace. The ending really hooked me into reading the next book, which I’m definitely going to do later. I would recommend this to anyone who’s into romance, time travel, and the idea that history repeats itself.
