This story is all about three girls (the Glimmer Girls) in Music City, which is another name for Nashville, Tennessee. While they’re in Nashville, they are going to sing in the Grand Ole Opry. By the way, the author of this book is a recording artist, too! One Glimmer girl, whose name is Amanda, tells the other Glimmer girls (her sisters) about Nashville, Tennessee and how she hopes to sing at the Grand Ole Opry. In this story, they don’t get invited to sing right away. Instead, they have to work for it. Besides Amanda, the other characters in this book are Mia and Lulu – the other Glimmer girls. There is also Miss Julia, who helps the Glimmer girls, and Mr. Shelton, who manages the Glimmer girls. There aren’t many illustrations in this story (about one per chapter). The illustrations that do show up are black and white drawings. It is a very interesting story. While reading this story, I wasn’t sure if the Glimmer Girls would sing at the Grand Ole Opry, but I thought that they should. What did they sing when they got to this famous entertainment location? You’ll have to read the book to find out! Girls – Ages eight to twelve, who love Nashville, Tennessee and stories about performers achieving success will probably like this book very much. I know I did!
