The Mighty Odds : Book One
Jay is a funny kid. He annoys most people. Nick is his friend. He’s really not in shape. Farshad doesn’t really have any friends because his nickname is “Terror Boy.” Cookie Parker helped give him that nickname. Martina draws people. The kids go on a field trip, and their little school bus has an accident. They get strange superpowers. Nick can teleport four inches to the left. Cookie can mind read people thinking about directions (which people do a lot in this book). Farshad has super strength in his thumbs. Martina can change her eye color. Mr. Friend, their teacher, can make things explode with a look. Will the kids battle Mr. Friend? What happened to the bus driver? Can the kids control their superpowers? Are these good superpowers? Read the book to find out.
I do not like cliffhangers, and this book has one of them, but I will read the next book. My favorite character is either Jay or Martina. I like the pictures. (We get to see Martina’s drawings before we meet her.) There are a few bad words. This book is from different points of view. The book is funny. I think it’s good the author wrote this book to teach people not to be racist. I like this book.
