The Mermaid’s Purse
This is about a girl who lived a long time ago, and she loved reading. She also knew when a storm was about to come, and she loved the rain, but she loved books more than anything. She collected books whenever she could, and she took books around to everyone to try to get everyone to read books. There was a man who didn’t like books, but he had some sheep that had a disease, and she found a book that told how to cure the sheep. There was another time when some boys were swimming, and she saved a boy who was drowning. She built a library for all her books, but it got destroyed in a storm, and all the books were carried away. Then all the people that the girl had helped with her books collected all the books that were lost and helped her build a new library, and she loved them.
This book is interesting because it is a true story. It is really fun that the girl liked to read a lot, and she wanted to help other people and also get them to love to read, too. I think children will like this book.
