The Lost Cipher
Lucas has been sent to Camp Kawani, a summer camp for kids who have lost one of their parents or grandparents. Lucas is not looking forward to this, especially since they have to sell their family’s house. When he hears about a local legend that tells tales of lost treasure, he begins to think not so badly about his summer. About two hundred years ago, an adventurer buried tons of gold in the mountains near camp. There is one clue that could lead Lucas and his newfound friends to the treasure. There’s one problem, though. It’s a code that no one has ever been able to break. If Lucas finds the treasure, he might be able to save his home.
When he and his friends sneak off from camp to look for the treasure and more clues, they find themselves in trouble. They’ve wandered into dangerous territory from which no one has ever returned. Will Lucas find the gold and survive?
This was a very good book. I would give it four or four-and-a-half stars. It may not sound very interesting to you, but the storyline is great. It draws you into an exciting storyline and a mischievous boy’s adventure at summer camp.
