Spectaccolo: A Tale of Darkness and Light
Abandoned as a baby at the doorstep of a circus, Leona is left to sleep with the lions. So naturally, the lions become her family and she becomes Leona, the Lion Tamer. As she gets older and performs with her lions she becomes more and more famous, making a name for herself and earning the highest recognition. When a neighboring circus gets jealous of her fame and the fortune she is bringing to Lucciole’s “Circus of Light,” she and her lions are kidnapped and forced to perform against their will. Leona gives Scuro, the man in charge of Spectaccolo, everything but he has a command for her like no other. She is to train a out-of-control male lion so he can be in her next performance. Can Leona train this terrible beast or is this one lion that cannot be tamed? Although I typically do not enjoy any circus scenes whatsoever, Spectaccolo: A Tale of Darkness and Light kept me interested from the beginning and Leona was an inspiration as she fought for love, freedom, and, of course, her lions.
