Railhead is about a street thief named Zen Starling. He lives on the planet Cleave, one of the destinations that can be reached by the k gates, rips made in space-time that can transport people to the other side of the galaxy. One day, he steals a necklace, and when he tries to get away, he meets a criminal mastermind named Raven’s robot, Nova. After a brief interrogation with the rail police, he meets Raven and agrees, for a huge price to steal the Pyxis, a box with unknown contents held on the Noon (royal family) train. Disguised as a Noon, he gets the box, but when he finds what it holds, he knows he must stop Raven before it is too late.

I liked that this book had advanced technology, like holograms and trains with AI systems. I also like that this book was mainly focused on helping the bad guy, instead of the traditional good guy main character. I liked how there was a good plot, and the book didn’t focus on one point for too long. I thought that it was good that the character was smart and bold.
