Quinny and Hopper are friends. Hopper has twin brothers, Ty and Trevor. Quinny has two younger sisters. They live next door to each other. They help take care of their neighbor’s chickens. One of the chickens piggyback rides Walter, the cat. Hopper has to go to the hospital to have his tonsils removed. He is terrified. Quinny gets lice, so she misses the field trip to the animal shelter. A substitute teacher is not nice to Quinny. There’s also a problem with the chickens. What’s the problem with the chickens? Read the book to find out.

The story goes back and forth between Quinny’s and Hopper’s points of view. They help each other out. They are nice kids who make mistakes. Victoria is so-so. I loved the characters. They are outstanding! The ending is okay. I loved the drawings. They are fun and very detailed. My favorite picture is a funny one. I love the emotions of the bored cat, Walter; Cha-Cha, the happy chicken; and Disco, the angry chicken. It’s not the most emotional book I’ve read, but there are a lot of emotions. There are happy parts, sad parts, nauseating parts, and funny parts. I am going to read other books in this series.
