One day Pico the gnome was sleeping until some birds and other animals woke him up because a giant stomp shook the ground, and everyone was running away from a huge giant who was coming. The giant was mean and rude and stomping down the forest, and that made Pico mad, so he shouted for the giant to stop! That surprised the giant, so he stopped stomping. Pico was frightened, but he pretended he had been looking for the giant to be his friend, and that made the giant happy, so then they really did become friends. So then Pico was happy because he had saved the forest from the stomping giant, and he had a new friend.

You will like reading this book because it has a good message, that if you treat people nicely you can be friends with them and they will want to treat you nicely, too. The pictures of the gnomes and the animals look very soft and make you feel sleepy, but they are very nice, too. This would be a good book to read before you go to bed because Pico likes to go to sleep!
