It’s Great Being a Dad
This is one of my favorite books of all. It has a lot of characters inside, and they all get in funny, troubled situations. The unicorn is all happy and colorful until she can’t eat without the corn sticking through something.
There’s Bigfoot, who’s big and strong, except when he tries to help the unicorn and sticks his foot in a tree truck. Then comes the robot, who has shiny lights and great ideas to help his friends. But if it rains, he gets all rusty and can’t work anymore. All three friends are stranded on an island and ask the Loch Ness Monster for help. He takes them to the fairy queen ballerina doctor, who’s able to help everyone until her magic wand is stolen away by the sneaky flying alligator pirate. She asks her dad for help, and Dad comes in. At that point in the book, you realize that all the characters were kids playing in a yard, and the alligator was the little brother stealing his sister’s toy. Dad comes in, fixes everyone’s problem and reminds little brother to play nice. Then they all give dad a funny makeover. Another reason why I liked this book is that shows how powerful and fun a daddy can be.
